#TBT to AVP San Fran: Day 2

Dear readers~

I hope y'all enjoyed my first #TBT blog from Day 1 of the 2018 AVP San Francisco Open. Since there's no AVP stop in San Francisco in the 2019 season, I decided to put this blog out there now. I hope you enjoyed the first day's summary and are prepared for the summary of Day 2. Now it's time to get into the results of Day 2.

July 7, 2018 was Day 2 of the San Francisco AVP Open. On Day 1 I talked about partners Alix Klineman and April Ross along with another set of partners, Sean Rosenthal and Chase Budinger. Day 2 will be about Lara Dykstra and Sheila Shaw along with Casey Patterson and Stafford Slick.
Shaw and Dykstra's Day 2 game was against Lauren Fendrick and Sarah Sponcil. unfortunately for Shaw and Dykstra, they lost 21-15 and 21-16. That score meant that the pair would be out of the San Francisco stop on the tour.

Patterson and Slick came into San Francisco ranked number 4. Their first game of Day 2 was against Han Smith and Lucas Yodah, ranked number 15. Patterson and Slick won the game 25-23 for the first set and 21-14 on the second set. After the pair had won that game, they played the number 8 seat, Piotr Marcinak and Eric Zaun. Sadly for Patterson and Slick, Marcinak and Zaun would go on to win the game 16-21 on the first set, 21-16 on the second set, and 15-12 on the third set. With Marcinak and Zaun winning, Patterson and Slick's games in San Francisco were over for 2018.

The four pairs that made it to the finals were number 5 for the men Chase Buddinger and Sean Rosenthal, who beat Patterson and Slick on Day 1, number 6 for the men Ed Ratledge and Robereto "Rafu" Rodriguez, number 1 for the women Emily Day and Betsi Flint, and number 4 Geena Urango and Caitlin Ledoux.

Stay tuned for my #TBT over Day 3 in San Francisco as well as my next blog when I cover the finals and semifinals of the 2019 AVP Huntington Beach Open. Don't forget to mark your calendars for June 21-23, 2019 for the 2019 AVP Seattle Open. If you're not able to attend the AVP event, you can catch them on Amazon Prime or follow the official AVP account on Instagram (@avpbeach) to keep up with that. Stay tuned for that and until next time, Miller out
