My latest #FBF blog is about April Ross and Alix Klineman covering their results at the 2018 FIVB Gstaad Open. Now it's time to cover the event.
On July 11, 2018 Klineman and Ross played their first match of the Gstaad 2018 FIVB Open in Gstaad, Switzerland. They made their way to the Quarterfinals. They played a total of 4 teams during their time in Gstaad. They left as soon as they finished playing the women's Quarterfinals at the 2018 AVP San Francisco Open so they could make the FIVB event.
Their first match was on July 11th where they played Spain. The score ended at 2-1 with Klineman and Ross winning. They lost the first set 20-22 but came back to win the second set 23-21 as well as the third at 15-7.
Their next game was on July 12th against Switzerland, the host nation. They won that game 2-0 by winning the first set 21-18 and the second set 22-20.
July 13th had their next game. This time it was against fellow Americans Summer Ross and Sara Hughes. Klineman and Ross won 2-1. They won the first set 21-18 but Summer and Hughes came back to win the second set 21-16. Klineman and Ross would go on to win the third set 15-9.
On July 14th, the pair would play their final game in town. They played Canada and lost 2-0. Even after two really good sets, both would end with a score of 15-21.
After that game, the pair walked away with 5th place after several days of playing.
Ross receives the serve as Klineman is about to prepare for the set. Don't forget to follow the pair on Instagram as they try to make it to Tokyo 2020: @alixklineman @aprilrossbeach
This was the summary of April Ross and Alix Klineman's results from their most recent stop on the FIVB. Make sure to mark your calendars for August 30-September 1, 2019 when Day 1 of the 2019 AVP Chicago Open, also called the Gold Series Championship, begins where the pair will try to win the Gold Series Championship.
