My latest #TBT blog post covers Day 2 of the 2018 AVP Hermosa Beach Open so let's get started.
July 28, 2018 was Day 2 of the 2018 AVP Hermosa Beach Open down in Hermosa Beach, California. Just like in my previous #TBT blog, the three teams that will be mentioned are Taylor Crabb with Jake Gibb, Geena Urango with Caitlin Ledoux, and Alix Klineman with April Ross. Each team had only one game on Day 2 except for Ledoux and Urango. They had two games.
Crabb and Gibb's game was against Billy Allen and Ryan Doherty (3). The game lasted for 41 minutes. Crabb and Gibb won the first set 21-16 as well as winning the second set 21-18. By beating Allen and Doherty, the pair made it to the semifinals on Day 3.
Urango and Ledoux's first game was against Sara Hughes and Summer Ross. Their game lasted 43 minutes. Urango and Ledoux lost the first set 17-21 and also lost the second set 18-21.
Urango and Ledoux's second game was against Nicole Branagh and Allie Wheeler (7). that game lasted for 44 minutes, just one minute longer than their previous game. Urango and Ledoux won the first set 21-19 and would later win the second set 21-17. after both of those games, the pair made it to the semifinals on Day 3.
Ross and Klineman's game was against Kelly Claes and Brittany Hochevar (2). The game lasted for 66 minutes. Klineman and Ross lost the first set 17-21 but would come back to win the second set 21-15. with both of them winning a set, they played a third set. The third set ended with Ross and Klineman winning 15-13. with Klineman and Ross winning that game, the pair moves on to the semifinals on Day 3.
